Assistant Professor Dr.Chenglong Shao (Department of Computer Science and Networks,Graduate School of Computer Science and Systems Engineering) received the Best Poster Award at the IEICE ICETC 2024 international conference held in Kitakyushu City from November 25 to 27, 2024. Three of approximately 100 poster presentations were recognized for their outstanding research contributions, and Prof. Shao’s work was among them.
The International Conference on Emerging Technologies for Communications (ICETC) is a flagship event organized by the Institute of Electronics, Information and Communication Engineers (IEICE). This high-profile international conference focuses on cutting-edge technologies in communications, including next-generation communication systems, IoT, AI, quantum communication, and security. It serves as a vital platform for researchers, engineers, and industry experts worldwide to exchange ideas and drive technological innovation.
Prof. Shao’s award-winning research, titled "MiWiL: LoRaWAN Packet Airtime Adaptation for Better Coexistence with Wi-Fi Networks," addresses the challenge of wireless signal interference between Wi-Fi networks and LoRaWAN (long-range wide area networks). This study proposes a novel LoRaWAN channel access protocol that leverages silent intervals in Wi-Fi traffic to enable LoRaWAN communication, thereby improving coexistence between the two technologies.
